Surprise, surprise: I have a new tattoo! With the premiere of the new episodes of The X-Files looming, I thought it was as good a time as any to get something I’ve wanted for quite awhile: Ed’s tattoo from the episode Never Again. (If you’re unfamiliar with The X-Files, here’s my list of episodes to start with, including Never Again.)
After chatting with my tattoo artist (Olivia at Everlasting Tattoo in SF), we decided on a few changes to make it a prettier tattoo. While the original sketch was pretty baller, we decided to add the flowers for a little girly flair, switch to a better font, and take a few liberties with the design and colors to make sure she ages well.
Additionally, the tattoo that appeared on the show was definitely NOT the right size for the arm it was on. Since this is arguably the most visible tattoo I have to date, I wanted to make sure it looked right for me.
I’m currently in the peeling and kind of itchy phase of healing, but should be fully healed in a few days. So far, I’ve learned that it really creeps people out when you call your tattoo “m’lady.”
