Surprise, surprise: I have a new tattoo! With the premiere of the new episodes of The X-Files looming, I thought it was as good a time as any to get something I’ve wanted for quite awhile: Ed’s tattoo from the episode Never Again. (If you’re unfamiliar with The X-Files, here’s my list of episodes to start with, including Never Again.)
I got a tattoo of a cat hula hooping! A cattoo if you will.
Welp, I got another tattoo. Way to make good on one of my attainable resolutions.
As I mentioned last week, I’m messed up on order now. Anyways, this is the first tattoo I got where there was really any thought behind it. In college I decided I wanted to make 1,000 paper cranes. So I made 1000 paper cranes. As legend has it, if you make 1,000 paper cranes you’re allowed to have one wish granted – so I wished for a tattoo of a paper crane. Boom – wish granted. I wish I could say the same thing for the little girl the legend started for, because that story is totally a bummer. I also had Danielle add in a few origami lucky stars, which my friend Hope taught me how to make in elementary school and I continue to make oodles of to this day.
I promised I would go in chronological order for as long as possible – and I did. I think I’m going in about the right order now, but I’m not sure. I’m pretty sure that Bunnicula came next, because I’m wearing American Eagle jeans in the photo of me getting him, and that was AGESSSSS ago. Actually, now that I’ve said that, I’m pretty sure my crane came next but we’re saving that one for next week.
Welcome to Tatt Tuesday, the first in a multi-part series of posts detailing my tattoos! A lot of people don’t realize I have tattoos when they first meet me, because I’ve managed to hide most of them pretty well. Rather than do the weird thing when people ask about them (ripping off the majority of my clothes), now they can just come look at Tatt Tuesday!
